International Diploma in Business (IDB) 

The International Diploma in Business (IDB) is at the same level as the first year of a Bachelor degree. It is aimed at those students who want to obtain an internationally recognised qualification allowing you to gain a broad range of general business skills and knowledge.
This qualification is for those who wish to study core aspects of business at undergraduate level for personal and career development.

Level of Qualification
This programme is at level 4 of the National Qualifications Framework. It is also the first stage of a Bachelors degree in Business.

Entry Requirements
On entry a student must have at least one of the following:
 
At least one 'A' Level pass or an appropriate School Leaver's Certificate.
 
Vocational experience which is deemed suitable by NCC Education.
 
The NCC Education International Foundation Year (IFY) or International Certificate in Business (ICB) or equivalent.

Applicants whose first language is not English will need:
EITHER
 
The required minimum result in the NCC Education Higher English Placement Test (HEPT), OR
 
IELTS 5.5 or equivalent

Programme Learning Outcomes

You will:

 
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the underlying concepts and principles of business and management, and an ability to evaluate them.
 
Present, evaluate and interpret data, to develop lines of argument and make sound judgement in areas of business and management.
 
Evaluate different approaches to business problem solving.
 
Communicate results of studies / research effectively.
  Develop new skills relevant to the areas of business and management, including the development of skills to optimise employability.

  Programme Structure  
 
 
The programme is taught over one academic year consisting of two semesters plus revision time in preparation for the formal assessment
 
Certificate awarded on completion by NCC Education.

  Progression
 
Successful graduates of the International Diploma in Business are eligible to apply for the International Advanced Diploma in Business. Alternatively students are eligible to apply to enrol at one of the many universities who have granted articulation onto their degree programmes with exemption from the first year.
Diploma graduates can enter employment with enhanced skills and greater employability in areas such as Marketing, Management, Finance, Retail or Human Resource Management.
