Introduction

The Foundation English Language course is designed to immerse candidates in a range of reading, writing, and oral presentation skills essential for academic and professional contexts. Candidates will engage with diverse themes and topics, allowing them to develop critical thinking and analytical abilities. Through guided practice, they will build fluency and precision in expressing ideas, constructing coherent arguments, and interpreting complex texts. This course aims not only to improve language proficiency but also to cultivate confidence in communication and foster an understanding of effective language use, equipping candidates with tools to convey their ideas clearly and persuasively.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand how to interpret a wide variety of texts.
• Be able to create pieces of writing based on a given scenario (three pieces of text required across genres, two pieces must be extended).
• Be able to deliver a formal spoken presentation on a suitable topic.
